Simplify Material Handling and Movement
An automotive parts manufacturer wanted to simplify material movement within the facility to a nearly “single scan” process.
- No add-on product was available at the time to perform all
the needed functions right out of the
box.
- Our
aXTend RF
module
provided the platform upon which we
developed custom processes that provided
the scan capabilities the client needed:
- Product could be scanned by hand-held device
when removed from old location
- Product would be scanned again at new location
by hand-held device
- Transfers would be linked through the
Dynamics AX system with no further input
from the operator
- The new process reduced the number of
steps by as much as 80%. and:
- Streamlined movement of material
within warehouse and production facility
- Reduced human error with simplified processes
- Reduced the training time required for new warehouse staff
- Made system functions easy for employees to learn and use
- The entire process took less than
two weeks because the base functionality of
aXTend RF already existed, saving four to
six weeks of development time.
