Preston Larimer is a
Microsoft Certified Professional in Dynamics
AX who has provided enhancements,
integrations and training on more than 15
Dynamics AX ERP implementations. He
has been the lead development resource on
multiple Dynamics AX implementations and has
extensive experience with SQL, EDI, systems
integration, and RF management for Dynamics
AX
and other products.
Preston is an expert in
Dynamics AX configuration, development and
integrations, the MorphX IDE, and the X++
programming language. On multiple occasions,
Preston has collaborated with Microsoft to
provide development, training, and course
review for their Business Solutions division
around the Dynamics AX product.
Prior to becoming an Dynamics AX developer and
information systems consultant, Preston
served as the Manager of Data and
Development for a large regional CPA and
consulting firm. In this role, Preston
helped form the firm’s strategic technology
directives. He led a team of technology
specialists to implement ecommerce and CRM
solutions as well as enhancing the firm’s
information management and reporting
capabilities through creative database
applications.
Charged with the
responsibility to seek out new technology
solutions that effectively addressed the
firm’s strategic business needs, Preston’s
team researched and evaluated emerging
technology for consideration by firm
leadership.
Preston gained much of his technology
savvy from the years he spent working on the
information infrastructure at Indiana
University. He held the positions of Manager
of Information Services for the Office of
the Vice President of Research for four
years during which he time he designed and
implemented the first online graduate
admission application in North America and
was a key presenter at a National
Association of Graduate Admission
Professionals conference on designing and
managing electronic student records.
Additionally, Preston was a Public Consulting
Manager with the university for three years
where he managed and coordinated a staff of
30 consultants providing first line support
to patrons of the University’s public
computing facilities. At the time of his
service with the University, he gained
valuable experience with a multitude of
technologies and business solutions. Preston
also served as an Adjunct Faculty Member for
Indiana University’s Kelley School of
Business where he taught business technology
courses.
Preston and his wife, Melissa, raise
three boys in Southern Indiana. He is an
avid reader and, when not in front of a
computer, enjoys spending time outdoors with
