Jan Dahl Sorensen’s professional background combines experience in business, finance and the development of enterprise resource planning applications. Jan is one of the original members of the team that brought Dynamics AX, then known as Axapta, from his homeland, Denmark, to North America in the 1990’s.

Jan’s original professional pursuit was accounting. He was an auditor with Coopers & Lybrand and moved on to become controller for a major land and ship elevator builder in Denmark. After a decade working in accounting, he applied for and landed a position in 1995 with Damgaard Data, supporting the application of Concorde XAL enterprise accounting and resource planning software, the predecessor to Axapta.

Damgaard partnered with IBM to extend Concorde XAL and Axapta into international markets, and Jan led the team responsible for localizing the application for Germany, Norway and Sweden. In late 1996, Jan became the CSE (Country Specific Engineering) Manager assigned to the United States and Canada. In this position Jan was responsible for identifying legal and market-specific requirement which he then worked with the development team to implement into the new Axapta application. During 1997, he was the leader of the U.S. Axapta Beta Hit Team assigned to launch the product in North America.

In 1998, Jan and his wife moved to the United States to start a career as an Axapta consultant. Beginning in 2000, he focused exclusively on AX installations and project management as a senior managing consultant for implementation in the Axapta practice of one of the nation's leading CPA and consulting firms.

Jan is a Microsoft Dynamics AX expert in Financials, Banking, Supply Chain, Production, Master Planning, Warehousing, and Projects. In addition, Jan has AX experience with CRM, HRM and Shop Floor.

Jan’s experiences as a controller provide him with a deep understanding of how a company’s business processes, throughout all levels of the organization, impact its bottom line. His strength as a consultant is his awareness that all corporate actions eventually end up on the general ledger.

Jan graduated from a commercial business college in Denmark. In addition to his lovely wife, Jan's family includes his son and daughter, with whom he loves spending his free time. Jan also enjoys playing soccer and can occasionally be seen drag racing his street-legal ’69 Camaro down the quarter-mile strip at O’Reilly Raceway Park.
